Stephanie A is on the Safety Board for Wasatch Elementary this school year. She wants input from our neighborhood concerning a safe route for walkers and bike riders to and from school. Stepanie and Wasatch feel the need to have the city put in crosswalk(s) across the 700 N & Seven Peaks Blvd. area to get to 580 N safely. She is also concerned about the cars parked on the street around Belmont and Arlington Condo’s. Steph is worried not if, but when will a child, not being seen by a car coming out of those parking lots, getting hit. She has suggested we ask the city to restrict a few more parking spots around the entrances and exits of those properties to increase visibility. (I think we have all experienced a driver not paying attention when you are coming into the neighborhood on 580 N).
She’d like to know how many of us have children riding their bikes or walking to and from school. She has asked you to look at the area of 700 N & Seven Peaks Blvd. and tell her where YOU think is the safest way for your children to cross streets coming up into the neighborhood.
