Updates

I'm checking in to see if anyone is reading the blog.

'crickets chirping'

I understand, there are SO many, I mean, millions of blogs to read, who has the time?
I promise, that we will not waste your time with frivolous posts.

Tuesdays at the park is still going! Check the sidebar for park locations.

I added the address to mail in your annual HOA fee
(in case you lost the address and tried giving it to someone on the board and they advised you to just mail it to the address on the statement.....ahem....oops.)
The HOA uses an accountant to keep track of our dues and expenses, the PO Box ensures our payments are received.

Neighborhood party was fun! Thank you to all the people the helped make that happen!

Other than that, things are very calm in our little patch of heaven.
Every one's yards are looking beautiful and I love seeing everyone outside enjoying the sunshine!

Tuesday's at the Park

Steph Burt has organized a park group for this summer. I love this idea! My children love going to the playground, but I love to go so I can interact with other moms. She welcomes ANYONE to join this group and to invite any others that would like to come.

Steph has set-up a Facebook group called SJSB Park Group, or e-mail her at snsburt@gmail.com to be added to a e-mail list to get the park schedule.

This is the schedule for the next few weeks:

May 17th- Bicentennial Park, 1400 S 1600 E, Provo
May 24th- City Center Park, 300 E Center Street, Orem

I will post the ongoing schedule on the sidebar in the future.
Hope to see you there!

300 N & Seven Peeks Blvd

Good news! The Provo Pipeline project is progressing north.
Access to our neighborhood from Center Street, Seven Peaks Blvd., & 300 N. is partially open. It has the northbound lane split into two-way traffic and the same for the round-about.
Also, the buses should stop using our neighborhood as their detour by the end of the month. Should be.

Solicitors

I feel like we get a lot of solicitors in our neighborhood. I try to be polite, but I just hate being interupted. A few months ago I put a "No Soliciting" sign on my home. I still get people knocking on my door. I checked to see if Provo has any laws protecting my rights. Well, guess what, they do!
Selling door-to-door in Provo requires a license. A city ordinance passed two years ago requires solicitors to undergo a background check and to wear an ID badge showing their names, company, and date their license expires.

The ordinance also prohibits a solicitor from knocking or ringing the bell at a residence with a "no soliciting" sign, and continuing to solicit after a person has clearly communicated a lack of interest. If asked to leave, the solicitor must do so immediately.

For more information, call Provo City Licensing at 801-852-6532. To report a violation, call Provo City Dispatch at 801-852-6210.
Here is a link I found on the Mayors Blog:

Don't let the solicitor tell you they don't need to wear it, or that the city has it on file.

The Provo City Code, section 6.09.110, says the identification badge "shall be worn prominently on the solicitor's person while soliciting in the City."

This is the badge they are to wear visibly.
